OPEN REGIONAL FUND FOR SOUTHEAST EUROPE – ENERGY, TRANSPORT AND CLIMATE PROTECTION

EU4 Energy Transition project, titled "Covenant of Mayors in the Western Balkans and Turkey," focuses on enhancing local energy governance. It includes the development of 19 Local Self-Government Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans (SECAPs) across Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia. The initiative also involves a detailed review of 19 Baseline Emission Inventories (BEI) and Risk and Vulnerability Assessments (RVA). Additionally, the project is dedicated to devising measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, supporting these regions in their commitment to sustainable energy policies and practices. This comprehensive approach reflects a significant effort to facilitate the transition to a low-carbon economy in these developing areas, aligning with broader European goals for energy sustainability and climate mitigation.
