SIMULATION OF OUTDOOR AIR POLLUTANT DISPERSION
3 July 2024
Air pollution dispersion simulation offers high spatial resolution, enabling detailed analysis of air pollution in specific areas and micro-locations under varying weather conditions. The model used for pollutant dispersion simulation incorporates data on linear sources (e.g., roads with heavy traffic) and point sources (e.g., industrial facilities, residential heating), providing a comprehensive overview of pollution sources. The model allows the simulation of synchronous release, dispersion, and deposition of various pollutants, including particles, passive gases, and reactive gases. It also considers deposition on surfaces and vegetation, as well as photochemical reactions between NO, NO₂, and ozone (O₃). Simulation results help to improve understanding of local pollutant dispersion dynamics and guide urban development to enhance air quality and public health.
