🌊 How vulnerable are the habitat types of our sea and coast to climate change?

This was the question we set out to answer last Wednesday at a workshop in Piran, where nature conservation experts gathered to assess how climate change affects marine and coastal habitats, from Posidonia seagrass meadows to marine reefs and coastal saline habitats.

Together, we identified which climate hazards are most critical for these habitats, how sensitive and adaptable they are, and how we will monitor them in the future.

The workshop is part of the national climate vulnerability and risk assessment that Envirodual Ltd. is preparing for the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning. The assessment will serve as one of the expert foundations for Slovenia’s new climate change adaptation strategy.

Many thanks to all participants for an excellent expert discussion! 🙌
